Meet Naima: Turning FFWU’s work into beautiful and inspiring content!

In this post, we are introducing Naima, who has always believed in the power of sports as a tool for social change.

In October 2024, she joined FFWU, bringing her passion and dedication to the team as we work together to drive impact through sport.

In this interview, you’ll get to know more about Naima’s journey, her role at FFWU, and what motivates her to keep pushing for change!

Naima, why did you decide to start volunteering?

“I decided to volunteer because I’ve always believed in the power of sports as a tool for social change. Sports don’t just build physical strength — they also foster confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of community. I wanted to contribute to creating safe spaces where children can grow, and that starts with the coaches that mentor them.”

What inspired you to volunteer with FFWU?

“I was inspired by FFWU’s mission to equip youth football coaches with the tools to become true catalysts for social change.”

What are you currently working on?

“Right now, I support FFWU’s design and communications efforts, especially across social media. I help create visual content, design impactful posts, and develop campaigns that showcase our work. My goal is to make our mission more visible and inspire new supporters to join us.”

How do you personally align with FFWU’s mission, and how does it influence your work here?

“FFWU’s mission resonates with me because it combines my love for sport with my commitment to social justice and community empowerment. It pushes me to tell stories that go beyond the pitch — stories of leadership, resilience, and transformation.”

What do you like most about volunteering with FFWU?

“The team truly lives and breathes football and social impact. Everyone is committed to sharing knowledge openly, supporting each other, and celebrating every small victory. “

How do you envision FFWU evolving in the next few years, and what role do you hope to play in that journey?

“I see FFWU expanding its reach, engaging even more coaches and communities globally, and becoming a key reference point for Sport for Development initiatives. I hope to continue playing a role in growing our network of supporters and partners, creating impactful communication strategies, and securing the funding needed to sustain and scale our work. “
