On 26th of May 2026 the world comes together to celebrate World Football Giving Day (WFGD) for the first time!

WFGD is a new global initiative that brings together football players, organizations, brands, and fans to mobilize support for communities around the world.

The campaign invites people to use the 🫶 – gesture and the hashtag #WeAreIn to share what football gave to them and to support the initiative.

Across the world, football is changing lives. And this is not different to our work at FFWU.

We empower community coaches around the world to use football as a tool for inclusion, teamwork, and personal growth.

The game can give kids confidence, build friendships, and develop skills that go beyond the pitch.

It creates opportunities, inspires hope, and fosters a sense of belonging for all.

What is World Football Giving Day?

World Football Giving Day  is a global initiative led by Common Goal that brings together football organisations, clubs, players, fans, and communities for one shared purpose: to give back through football and highlight the positive role the game can play in society. We are joining Common Goal and partners across the football world to create a united moment and amplify impact worldwide.

World Football Giving Day is coordinated through the Football for Good (F4G) initiative, which works to connect organizations using football for social impact — including networks like Common Goal and other partners across the sector. Rather than being a single centralized campaign, it is more of a collaborative platform, where different organizations (like FFWU) contribute their own stories, activities, and campaigns under a shared umbrella.

So we thought — what better moment to share the voices of our coaches? Below, you can hear directly from them about what football means in their lives.
